Ontario Universities International Exchange Agreements
McMaster has joined the Ontario Universities International (OUI) provincial consortium agreements in China, France, and Germany. These agreements provide students with access to the regular exchange program (see below). This program is facilitated by International Student Services.
Students can choose to study for either one term or a full year. Tuition and fees are paid to McMaster, but courses are taken at an eligible host school.
Students must meet the following criteria:
- must be entering level III of an Honours or Combined Honours program
- minimum cumulative GPA of 7.0
- students must complete their final year at McMaster following the term or year abroad
In almost all cases, students must have a certain level of proficiency in the language of the host country to study abroad through these agreements. There is no guarantee that some or any of the courses will be offered in English. The only exception is the SELF program at Lyon 3 in France.
How to Apply
Step 1: Attend an information session.
International Student Services hosts information sessions for each of the OUI agreements, normally in the fall terms. Watch for their notifications on these, or contact email@example.com for more information.
Step 2: Meet with the Academic Advisor for Study Abroad
After attending an information session, meet with the academic advisor to discuss your program requirements, eligibility, and course options. This is a preliminary meeting, so specific course selections are not required at this point. The goal of this meeting is to discuss your overall requirements and how best to meet them while abroad.
Step 3: Apply by January 10, 2017.
